RECRUITMENT 2012 – ASSISTANT, JUNIOR STENOGRAPHER VACANCIES


The establishment of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) took place in the year 1963. The institute was established as an autonomous organization by the government of India. The main objective behind the establishment of this institute was to organize and professionalize the operations involved in the foreign trade management in the country and uplift the number of exporting instances through the form of efficient human resources, analyzing and disseminating useful and significant data and on the basis of these data, conducting highly vital information providing research activities. The institute is broadly involved in conducting courses like MBA and Executive MBA with special focus on the field of Export Management streams. IIFT has notified about the recruitment process that is going to be held for the vacancies related to the posts of Junior Stenographer and Assistant Stenographer for the candidates who are interested and fulfill all the eligibility criteria that have been set by the IIFT and the government for the mentioned vacancies.

IIFT Recruitment 2012 details
For this recruitment process of Junior Stenographers and Assistant Stenographers, IIFT has invited applications from candidates who are interested and eligible according to the criteria set by the institute and the government.
   
The total number of vacancies for both the positions combined is 11. These vacancies would further be divided into the two posts and the various reservation categories to which the candidates belong. The division of these 11 vacancies is as follows:
1.     Assistant Stenographer: The total vacancies that have been fixed for this post is 4. Out of these 4 vacancies, 2 vacancies are meant for the unreserved category candidates and 2 vacancies are for OBC category candidates.
   
2.     Junior Stenographer: The total number of vacancies for this post is 7. These vacancies have been divided further as – 3 vacancies for unreserved category candidates, 1 vacancy for SC category candidates, 1 vacancy for ST category candidate, and 2 vacancies are for OBC category candidates.
IIFT Recruitment 2012 Eligibility Criteria
The upper age limit that has been set for both the posts of Junior Stenographer and Assistant Stenographer is 28 years. Age relaxations are applicable on the upper age limit of the candidates as per the instructions of the government for the candidates belonging to the reservation categories. Upper age limit can be relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates, up to 3 years for OBC candidates and up to 10 years for PH candidates.
  
The educational and experience related criteria set by the government is quite similar in nature. The candidates should have a graduation degree from a recognized university with 50% marks and should be very well versed with the basic operations of computers along with excellent proficiency in the MS office package of software.
  
Selection Procedure & Pay Scale
After the short-listing of candidates on the basis of their educational and other qualifications, they will be called for written tests. For the post of Assistant Stenographer, a subjective + objective test would be conducted. For the post for Junior Stenographer, a General English test will be conducted along with an English shorthand test. Final selection decision will be made on the basis of the performance of the candidates in these tests.

The pay scale that has been defined for the post of Junior Stenographer is Rs. 5200 – 20200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2400. Other benefits and allowances will be provided to the selected candidates. The candidates who are selected for the post of Assistant Stenographer will receive the pay scale of Rs. 9300 – Rs. 34800 + Rs. 4200 grade pay.
    
Application Submission Process
The application form needs to be filled in the prescribed manner with all the required information. The required documents have to be attached along with the application form and sent to Registrar, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, B21, Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi – 110 016 before 28th September 2012.
